I have been subscribing with Birchbox since December and have finally earned enough points to get $10 off at their online store. I chose BAD gal lash by Benefit because of the reviews and because I LOVE mascara, so I wanted to try it. It originally costs $19.00 at Birchbox.com with free shipping, but after my discount, this mascara only cost me $9.00. Pretty good deal!
It took a little over a week for me to receive it, but it was worth the wait. Here are some of my positive points on the mascara:
- The actual amount of mascara you get is pretty good, 0.3 OZ. I'm hoping it lasts me a while.
- The brush is very large and doesn't clump up, which makes sweeping the eye lashes very easy!
- It layers very well. I am kinda a mascara freak, so I put about 8 coats on of this stuff to make my lashes extra thick and long. This definitely works well for that!
- Wearing it all day is a piece of cake! It isn't heavy, so I don't have to worry about my eyelashes bringing down my eyelids...I can only blame that on myself for staying up too late.
- The price isn't bad! They sell it at great retailers, I believe Macy's, Ulta, and Sephora. All these stores usually have coupon deals, which always helps pay for makeup addictions :)
The cons:
- It is not waterproof. This is a big flaw for me because I tend to get teary eyed a lot (thanks hormones)
- The brush is very large (yes I know I put this in the pros...) this makes it difficult to sweep the bottom lashes, which I like to do since my eyes are small.
Overall, I really love this mascara. It's definitely something I will purchase again!
I took pictures of what it did to my lashes, the first picture showing one eye with the mascara and my other eye without...Definitely a difference!
These are just great glamour shots of my lashes after I put the mascara on. I'm definitely impressed!
